Camper is the sponsor of one of the race entrants, called Camper with Emirates Team New Zealand. Targets for coverage include media in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Competitors in the Volvo Ocean Race cover 39,000 miles on a nine-leg journey from Alicante, Spain, to Galway, Ireland, with stops including Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Auckland, and Miami. The race began in September last year and will conclude in July. Sanya is the stopover between legs three and four.
