BBDO/Proximity Singapore names head of digital planning

SINGAPORE - BBDO/Proximity Singapore has named Douglas Lin (pictured) as head of digital planning.

Lin relocates to Singapore from New Zealand, where he was Aim Proximity’s national digital planning director.

Prior to his three years at Aim Proximity, Lin held planning positions at McCann Worldgroup and AKQA. He has worked with brands including Vodafone, Yellow Pages, Microsoft, Toyota, Sony, Visa and Nestle.

“Douglas is a heavy hitter and one of the most sought-after digital strategy leads,” Jean-Paul Burge, CEO of BBDO/Proximity Singapore and president of Southeast Asia, said of the appointment.  “He brings with him strong knowledge in social media, mobile and analytics. These are areas we see Douglas spearheading innovation and new technology.”

The appointment follows a change in management structure at the network.
Last month, Burge was promoted to president of Southeast Asia, in addition to his role as CEO of BBDO Singapore. Carol Potter was promoted to president and CEO for Greater China, expanding on her current role in the region.

In December, the agency took home the Platinum Award for best digital campaign of the year and was named Digital Agency of the Year at the 2009 Digital Media Awards.
