Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has contacted agencies ahead of a possible pitch for its global creative business.

Agencies line up for Huawei global contest

A brief has yet to be issued but Huawei’s smartphone, mobile broadband and home devices division has asked London agencies for their credentials.

Huawei's global creative account is currently managed by a bespoke WPP team, which brings together talent from the group's agencies around the world,  named TEAMHW. The team is based out of Shenzhen, China.

Isobar leads global digital marketing activity from Shanghai and London.

A previous version of this article stated that Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong is Huawei's global creative agency. This is inaccurate and this article has been corrected.
