Aegis to drive sustainable marketing with Clownfish in China

SHANGHAI - London-based sustainability agency Clownfish is to expand into Asia Pacific following its acquisition by Aegis Group, with a launch in Shanghai scheduled for next month.

The agency will operate as part of digital network Isobar, having already worked in partnership with Aegis to service global clients such as Beiersdorf, Coca Cola and Reebok.

In Shanghai, Clownfish will reportedly continue to work with its global clients, as well as with other companies under the Aegis umbrella, to evaluate the environmental impact of individual marketing campaigns.

Aegis Media’s chairman and chief executive for Asia Pacific, Patrick Stahle (pictured), commented that increasing awareness of sustainability issues among Chinese consumers presented “lots of good opportunities” in the market. He added that Clownfish would be a valuable asset to existing companies within the group, given the complex nature of carbon footprint assessment.

Stahle said that the leadership of the office in Shanghai had yet to be decided.
