360buy.com wraps up media, creative, digital pitches

BEIJING - Chinese e-commerce site 360buy.com has handed its media duties to Optimedia Beijing, with DDB Guoan and OgilvyOne understood to have won the creative and digital pitches, respectively.

It is believed that the creative and media contracts are both worth US$20 million, while the digital contract is estimated to be worth around US$10 million.

360buy.com is a comprehensive e-commerce site in China dealing across multiple product categories, including AV, home appliances, automobile accessories, mobiles, computers, clothing and cosmetics.

HP, Acer, ThinkPad, Haier, Nokia, Siemens, LG, Panasonic, Sony and Midea are some of the many brands running online shops on the e-commerce site.

According to local media reports, Richard Liu, chairman and chief executive officer of 360buy.com, confirmed that ten individual investors and investment funds now hold stakes in the website. The company had previously received funding of US$180 million from venture capital firms such as Capital Today and Tiger Global Management.
