Shortly after an 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia on Wednesday triggering concerns of a repeat of the devastating 2004 tsunami, KFC Thailand posted a Facebook message encouraging fans to pick up a takeaway.
“Let’s hurry home and follow the earthquake news. And don’t forget to order you favourite KFC menu,” it reportedly said.
The message provoked a slew of angry comments prompting KFC to remove the post and replace it with an apology.
It reportedly said, “The KFC Thailand fanpage team would like to apologise for an inappropriate post relating to the disaster.”
However, the Facebook message has already received widespread attention, with a slew of international news websites covering the incident.
