Airbus, which has its regional head office in Singapore, did not have an incumbent PR agency in Singapore.

As part of the retainer programme, Grayling will provide media relations services, support for events and other regular PR activities in Singapore, which is one of the company's key markets for its A380 in the Asia-Pacific region.

Sean Lee, Airbus communications director, Asia said: “Grayling was selected to provide support for our communication activity in Singapore based on its wide experience in the aviation sector. With Grayling on-board we will be able to provide an enhanced service to the local media and increase awareness of our company and its products in this important market."

Chris Davies, MD for Grayling Asia said: “The Asia-Pacific aviation market is growing at a really fast pace, and Grayling is delighted to support Airbus - one of the world’s largest aviation companies – in maintaining its leadership position in this market. This is a very good win for us to announce on the day that we formally launched the new Grayling operation.”

Grayling previous aviation clients include RollsRoyce and Embraer, a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, and in addition Chris Davis himself worked on British Airport Authority and at a number of airports in the UK in the 90s.

The agency’s other current blue chips clients includes Diageo, TNT, Qantas, Gemalto, and last September it also won HIT Entertainment's Asia-Pacific PR account.
