TNS research appoints its first creative director, Martin Lambie-Nairn

LONDON - WPP-owned research company TNS has announced the appointment of Martin Lambie-Nairn as creative director. He is tasked with improving the look and feel of TNS deliverables and will be directly involved in client work and pitches.

His further duties will include developing the creative capabilities of the network's local teams and working with global marketing director Tim Isaac on the TNS brand identity.

Lambie-Nairn founded design agency Lambie-Nairn & Company in 1976, and is best known for his 1997 rebranding of the BBC network. He also developed the mobile network brand O2, which replaced BT cellnet in 2002.

TNS CEO Eric Salama commented that he has long admired Lambie-Nairn's work. "Whenever we really demonstrate our creativity with our clients, they respond positively and we want to embed a creative approach into all of our client work. Lambie-Nairn will be a major catalyst in accelerating this process," he added.

Lambie-Nairn described his approach was of "making the complex simple". He added his own confidence that placing creativity at the heart of TNS' business would further boost its success.
