Queen Elizabeth is now a member of Facebook, after the British monarchy officially launched a fan page earlier this week.

Over 210,000 users have ‘liked’ the page, which provide news and information about the royal family. The page brings pictures of the royal family, pushes updates to users’ news feed, and help users find events in their area.

A two-person team manages the monarchy's Facebook page.

The British monarchy is not new to social media, having established accounts with Flickr, Twitter and You Tube in previous years.

According to a report Facebook released earlier this year, the social media site currently boasts with 500 million active users. There are currently more than 100 million Facebook users in Asia.
