Scott Thoreau returns to Emphasis Media as MD for Hong Kong
Thoreau will be responsible for the development and growth of the custom publishing business in the Greater China region and the implementation of new communication solutions for clients across platforms including print, online and mobile.



Thoreau is a 13-year media and advertising veteran, and most recently worked for The Financial Times (FT), where he was the regional director for the Western USA, directing advertising sales and responsible for branding and positioning of the newspaper, and the ft.com website in that region. 



Prior to the FT, Thoreau also had stints with First Eastern Media, directing media related investment opportunities in China, he was also the publisher at AVCJ Holdings managing an Asian private equity and venture capital information portfolio which included conferences, magazines, directories, and a research database.

From 1995 to 1999 Thoreau was with Emphasis first as VP of sales, then group publishing director. 



The company also appointed Harold Lau as client service associate director last August.
