Mobile phone company Esia seeks media partner for its US$ 10mn account in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Esia, the CDMA division of the mobile phone operator PT Bakrie Telecom, is seeking a media partner for its Indonesian market.

Up to five agencies are involved in the final round of pitching, short-listed down from the initial nine. 

Pratama, the incumbent agency, is in the race alongside Starcom and Mindshare. 

The result for the US$10 million media account is expected to be announced by early August.  

PT Bakrie is Indonesia's fourth largest telecommunications company and expects the number of its subscribers to increase by 32 per cent to around 14 million in 2010. 

Bakrie bases its business on a low and simplified tariff structure and affordable handsets. Esia is its low-cost service which was launched in 2004 to lure more users to its network.
