This appointment came after the win of Indonesia's largest telco operator, following a multi-agency pitch in July 2011. The incumbent for the telco is understood to have been MEC.

Tedjakastama will report directly to Rajat Basra, technical advisor at M2M Interface, and David Wibowo, president director of NAVA +, the holding company of Interface Indonesia.

Daya Maha Berkarya (DMB), Advis, Brainstorm and M2M Interface formed a partnership under the Nava+ Group of brands, following DMB's split from DDB Worldwide in Indonesia, after a nine-year partnership with the network. DDB then established a new full-service agency in Indonesia, led by Dean Cloke and John Bailey, both formerly of Ogilvy Red Works.

“The offer to join M2M Interface is a rare opportunity to work with a unique group of media professionals and clients who are very dynamic. I am convinced this will open the door to new media ideas and possibilities to enhance client ROI," Tedjakastama said. “I believe my knowledge and experience in both the client and media business will strengthen M2M Interface’s competency and directly impact on client business.

Basra noted that the new appointment will further strengthen the agency’s competence. “Octa has a very comprehensive track record and a passion that is required to lead and navigate media on a fast paced category like Telecommunications and work on a leader brand like Telkomsel.”
