As part of this new partnership, games will be broadcast on ESPN and Star Sports and will be available across multiple platforms including online and mobile.

“We see prime-time Friday night basketball as a powerful tool to popularize ABL,” said Peter Hutton, ESS’ managing director. “We’re very impressed with the league’s willingness to help us jointly grow the sport.”

The new agreement also includes a weekly show called ABL Crossover: A magazine-style show that will feature entertaining off-court segments. The ABL will also enjoy news coverage on SportsCenter, Score Tonight and ESS’ 24-hour sports news channel.

The network will also employ social-media campaigns to raise visibility and promote the fourth season of the sport in Southeast Asia.

The ABL has six teams competing across six countries. It was founded by Tony Fernandes and Erick Thohir and sanctioned by the South East Asian Basketball Association (SEABA).
