ESPN makes two appointments

SINGAPORE – ESPN Star Sports (ESS) has enhanced its sales team with more regional media and advertising sales expertise.

It named Vineet Puri as the vice president, integrated ad sales, Southeast Asia, responsible for ESS’ advertising sales and sponsorship solutions across SEA.

To be based in Singapore, he will report to Adam Zecha, executive vice president, head of sales for SEA, overseeing sales operations, developing new integrated advertising opportunities and partnerships, managing budget processes and providing strategic support to achieve on-air, on-line and on-mobile sales objectives.

“We are very pleased to have someone of Vineet’s calibre join our team as we enter a new fiscal year. We look forward to leveraging his proven sales and leadership skills to strengthen and sustain our sales and marketing growth across our key SEA markets,” Zecha said.

Prior to the appointment, Puri spent ten years at Viacom Brand Solutions, heading up SEA and pan regional ad sales as vice president at MTV Networks International, managing teams in Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines as well as all global incoming and outgoing business.

He has almost 20 years of experience in media sales and marketing in Asia Pacific.

In addition, ESS’ Malaysia sales team appoints Gleeson Doss as its new senior manager, integrated ad sales. He will be tasked for enhancing advertising and sponsorship offerings for clients across ESS’ television and digital media services.

He has more than 13 years of experience in media sales and marketing in Malaysia, with 11 years as sales manager and marketing executive at Astro, responsible for closing a collection of sponsorship deals for major sporting events including the FIFA World Cup 2010 and the 2008 Olympic Games.
