Martin, a 20-year logistics veteran, will take on the newly created role of head of marketing and sales, based in Singapore but responsible for sales activities across the region.

The appointment marks his return to Asia after spending the past four years as vice president of sales strategy and development for DHL Express in Germany. Martin, who joined DHL in 2003, previously worked in India, The Philippines and Malaysia with DHL.

Lawrence Lee has also been appointed as chief information officer. He joins from Wal-Mart Sourcing, where he led the business processes and systems group.

Kelvin Leung, CEO, Asia Pacific, DHL Global Forwarding, said Asia-Pacific is a “key growth region” for DHL Global Forwarding.

He said, “With the latest appointments, we now have a team that is even stronger, swifter and more effective in capitalizing on the fast growth of intra-Asia trade to meet and exceed the demands of the challenges ahead.”

DHL Global Forwarding streamlined its operating team last year with the aim of growing trade across Asia and globally.
