In the session, the agency’s regional chairman and chief executive, Nirvik Singh, will question Chinn (pictured) on his path to global culinary success and draw parallels between Chinn’s accomplishments and the creative and communications industries.

“Bobby’s journey in the culinary world is more similar to that in our world of creativity and communications than we might think, whether we are fuelling our passion, searching for inspiration, developing and executing innovative ideas, engaging with a discerning audience, or exploring new media and markets,” Singh said.

Chinn described his philosophy as being to start with the attitude that everything is possible, not to be afraid to “appear stupid”, and to pursue continuous learning. “I look forward to sharing my experiences and enjoying a stimulating creative exchange at Spikes Asia,” he added.

Chinn was born in New Zealand to a Chinese father and Egyptian mother. He has been based in Vietnam for the past 15 years and has been named 'Best entertainment presenter' twice at the Asian TV Awards.

Grey Group’s 'Eye on Global Asians' is designed to complement the annual 'Eye on Asia' study by examining the motivations of internationally successful Asians in various fields. Last year the seminar featured the Japanese-American magician Cyril Takayama.

The Spikes Asia Advertising Festival will take place in Suntec Singapore between 18 and 20 September.
