The app, ‘Bloomberg TV+’, first launched in October 2011, but it largely offered US content. The updates will see more content from Bloomberg TV Asia added, with the inclusion of shows like Asia Stars, Asia Voyagers and Asia Edge.

The app is free and delivers a comprehensive video experience combining breaking news, the latest business stories, special events, Bloomberg TV Live and on-demand access to Bloomberg's shows, the company said.

The app also allows for the download and viewing of videos offline, as well as enabling users to create their own channels for companies, topics or people of interest.

Oke Okaro, general manager and global head of mobile and connected devices for Bloomberg L.P., said the updated app is part of Bloomberg’s commitment to create transformative mobile experiences.

"We thought very carefully about how to create an exciting and useful next generation video experience for business executives, and have been pleased with how well Bloomberg TV+ has been received," Okaro added.
