Commenting on the winning campaign, Chris Baylis, ECD at Tribal DDB Amsterdam and the chairman of the Digital Media Awards judges, said the effectiveness of the work fulfilled the maxim that people go online to find something worth talking about. “This isn’t advertising, this is an experiment, it’s a project, it’s testing the theory of Yellow,” he said.
Elsewhere, BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines won a gold award in the Integrated category for its ‘Lola “Grandma” Techie’ creation for Banyan Telecommunications, while BBDO Singapore picked up gold in the Website category for its 'Things we forget’ campaign for Post-It. BBDO Singapore also won gold for its ‘Whale shark gamble’ campaign in the Not-For-Profit category.
Digital Brand of the Year was awarded to Dell and Intel for their creative use of digital to achieve marketing success over the past 12 months, in particular the acclaimed Swarm campaign.
In total, the Digital Media Awards, now in its third year, handed out 12 gold, 18 silver and 23 bronze.
