SINGAPORE - StarHub has filled its long-vacant head of content position with Kathleen Syron, the programming head at Malaysian media giant Astro.

Astro's Syron fills head of content role at StarHub

Syron fills the job vacated by former VP of content and marketing Tham Loke Kheng, who moved to Taiwan as marketing head of Taiwan Broadband in January.

She will lead StarHub's pay-TV, mobile and online content offerings.

Prior to Astro, Syron held roles at TeleCommunications International in Hong Kong, where she was regional general manager, and VP for channel operations for Sony Pictures Entertainment, based in London.

"Kathleen brings with her an impressive wealth of international experience in content management," said StarHub CEO, Terry Clontz (pictured). "Content acquisition and management, particularly for digital media assets, are becoming even more critical as convergence evolves towards anytime, anywhere access to audio and video content."
