iPhone 5 to get iWallet NFC

The iPhone 5 is likely to come packing NFC (near-field communication) capabilities to keep up with Google's NFC-toting Galaxy Nexus. But it looks like Apple will also mount a challenge to Google Wallet with its own iWallet NFC payment system. The revelation comes from an interview with MasterCard boss Ed McLaughlin in an interview with Fast Company. Read more…

Samsung Galaxy S Advance officially announced

The TouchWiz-skinned Gingerbread phone has a 4in WVGA Super AMOLED screen, while that Android 2.3 OS ought to crackle along on the dual-core 1GHz processor. Samsung’s Galaxy S Advance isn’t a bad looker either, especially for a mid-budget smartie and it certainly hasn’t been on the pie diet at less than 10mm thin and weighing just 120g. Read more…

Yahoo introduces App Search tab

Yahoo has simplified the process of finding Android and iOS apps by adding a bespoke App Search tab to its UK search engine. The ssearch engine offers the prospective buyer three download options: scan a QR code using your phone, redirect to the app store, or enter your mobile number to receive a link. Read more…

iPad 3 will have super fast processor and 4G LTE

The iPad 3 will have an A6 quad-core processor and 4G LTE connection, according to a source that leaked the information to BGR. The lucky leaker wasn’t cheeky enough to reveal photos of the tablet itself but read-outs from his debug screen reveal plenty. Read more…
