Toyota's campaign becomes a Facebook 'success story'

ASIA PACIFIC – Toyota Asia Pacific has received an overwhelming response to its first foray on to Facebook, with the social networking site highlighting it as a model for driving high audience engagement.

The ‘Toyota Hybrid Solutions’ regional Facebook page, promoting its 'Hybrid Synergy Drive' (HSD) technology is part of a wider above-the-line and digital campaign, launched at the end of May by Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, in a collaboration with Waggener Edstrom Worldwide.

The page received 20,000 fans in the first week, and now has more than 55,000 'likes'. Facebook has even asked t highlight the page as a “success story” due to the high audience engagement.

Adrian Lim, regional marketing manager at Toyota Motors Asia Pacific, said, “The current HSD campaign is the most digitally-savvy and socially-focused effort in the region to-date. We are very pleased with the campaign success and the performance of our marketing partners.”

Saatchi also deployed television advertisements as well as web banners on MSN, Yahoo, and Google ad networks to drive traffic to the page.

Besides information and content, the ‘Toyota Hybrid Solutions’ Facebook page also houses a competition with weekly challenges for fans to win prizes.
