According to the video appeal fronted by Wunderman Sydney creative director Matt Batten, the floods in Queensland and parts of northern New South Wales marks one of the greatest natural disasters in the country's history.

It has been estimated that three quarters of Queensland was under water which equals approximately 18 per cent of the entire landmass of Australia and five time the landmass of Great Britian.

The appeal goes out to "all fellow advertising agencies, especially international networks with a base in Australia."

Wunderman has donated to the official government relief fund and will match all employee contributions, dollar for dollar, until 31 January.

Batten concludes with, "This is not a competition, there is no prize for the network that gives the most, we simply ask that you help."
