Speaking on Monday 20 September, Bryce Courtenay, a former creative director and best-selling author of 'The Power of One', has been added to the programme courtesy of DDB.

Courtenay has lectured around the world on the power of the individual to achieve any purpose.

'The Power of One' has been translated into 11 languages and made its screen debut in 1992. Before turning to writing, Courtenay spent 34 years working in advertising as a creative director at McCann Erickson, J. Walter Thompson and George Patterson Advertising, during which time he was much awarded both in Australia and overseas.

The man who boldly states, "dare your genius to walk the wildest unknown way" is expected to be a highlight of the Spikes Asia festival.

Founding partner of Naked Communications Jon Wilkins is due to speak on Tuesday 21 September in the president's address titled 'The Architects of Change'. He will explain why it is important that media practitioners grasp today's shifting environment and drive and own change, the practical implications and what the world will look like if they succeed.

Thirdly, TBWA is presenting 'Get up off your backside and do something for the world' on the same day. The talk will explore how the advertising and communication industries owe the world an apology for rendering cities less beautiful and promoting consumerism where it's not needed. They go on to say that perhaps it's time to redress the balance and harness their collective energy to achieve something truly worthwhile.
