Relocating from London, Dargan was most recently a freelance strategist with AKQA and the senior vice-president and head of strategy at Digitas for two years from 2007.

He will report to Taru Jain, managing director at XM Singapore who came on board in December last year.

Jain states that Dargan comes in to grow the agency's analytics and strategic planning in the Singapore and Malaysia markets. One of his main areas of focus is CRM and social media offerings.

Dargan’s appointment sees to make these strategic areas ‘more actionable’, said Jain. He will oversee the overall client portfolio at XM, including major accounts like HP, Singapore Tourism Board, Sony, Diageo and Singapore Economic Development Board.

Former head of digital strategy Oliver Eriksson joined XM in May 2008. David Brown joined as senior creative director in the same year. Brown is due to sit on the Cyber Lions jury at Cannes Lions this year.

Ericksson and Brown’s next moves have not yet been announced.
