Salesforce reportedly about to buy Buddy Media for US$800 million

The sources story, broken by AllThingsD, has yet to draw comment from Buddy Media and Salesforce.com. The online article also said that Buddy Media had selected Salesforce's bid over a competitive one from Google.

In February, Buddy Media acquired Facebook ads API partner Brighter Option, which it integrated into its overall suite of products and rebranded as Buy Buddy in May. The new system was recently adopted by Group M.

Campaign contacted representatives of Buddy Media and Salesforce.com on the issue but neither party was able to comment at the time of publication.
