Roman is residing in California and will begin his new position next week.
Roman joined HP in 2005 under the Personal Systems Group division to oversee products like notebooks, netbooks, mobile computing systems and more. Along with creative agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, Roman was part of the team that led the ‘The Computer Is Personal Again’ campaign at HP.
He was also a former vice president of worldwide advertising and brand marketing at Apple.
“In the third quarter of our fiscal year, Lenovo achieved its highest ever global marketshare and became the fastest growing PC manufacturer in the world among the top five,” said Lenovo CEO, Yuanqing Yang. The company reported a net profit of US$79.52 million in the last three months of 2009.
Cecilia Chan, regional marketing manager for Lenovo Hong Kong, macau, Taiwan and Korean added that, “David Roman is Lenovo's new worldwide CMO and as such, my organization (HTK marketing) along with the other regional marketing organizations whether they're in Asean or India etc, are part of the global marketing function. As marketers, we all take functional direction from our worldwide colleagues.”
