Eschenbacher in move to Tribal DDB

BEIJING - OgilvyOne Asia-Pacific ECD Dirk Eschenbacher has pointed to the need for a new challenge as the key factor behind his decision to move to Tribal DDB.

Eschenbacher in move to Tribal DDB

Eschenbacher noted that Tribal’s fledgling presence in Asia afforded a different kind of opportunity than at OgilvyOne, where he has been for the past seven years.

“There are not many other players out there and OgilvyOne is far ahead,” said Eschenbacher. “I think that Tribal is the only one that has potential, and it knows it has to catch up.”

Eschenbacher’s arrival as regional ECD and managing partner follows the appointment of Amanda King as regional president and managing partner at Tribal DDB (Media, 17 July).

At OgilvyOne, Eschenbacher’s Motorola duties will be assumed by Michael Chu, who becomes regional digital CD on Ogilvy’s Team Moto. In addition, Ba Qing Wang will join OgilvyOne Beijing as ECD.
