Edelman has announced leadership appointments for its Southeast Asia operations, effective immediately. Delicia Tan will expand her role as CEO of Edelman Singapore while continuing as CEO for Hong Kong and Taiwan.

This change follows the departure of Julia Wei, who is departing Edelman Singapore at the end of the month, after two years of rejoining the agency as CEO. Campaign Asia previously reported on Wei's return to Edelman in September 2022, where she had previously worked for nine years (2005-2015) before holding positions at The Secret Little Agency, Lazada,\ and AKA Asia. Wei is leaving to take a role outside the industry.

Tan joined Edelman Singapore in 2006 and has worked across the Asia Pacific region. Last year, Campaign recognised her as one of its  Women to Watch Greater China.. As CEO for Hong Kong and Taiwan, she has led the Hong Kong office through the post-pandemic period.

Meanwhile, Vorasit (Gigg) Turongsomboon has been appointed to a newly created role of managing director for Edelman Thailand. Turongsomboon brings over 16 years of strategic public relations experience, including a decade at Procter & Gamble and most recently as managing Director at MSL. He will lead Edelman Thailand amidst a period of growth driven by client demand.

Rakesh Thukral, Edelman’s CEO for Asia Pacific, expressed confidence in both leaders, stating that their appointments will enhance the firm's ability to deliver top-notch communications advisory services across the region.

"Delicia’s new role is an acknowledgement of her experience and contribution to our firm," said Thukral. "We have a strong team and a great set of clients in Singapore. With Delicia’s leadership, I am confident that we will continue to do impressive work in that market. I would like to thank Julia for her contribution to the Edelman business in APAC."
