Melbourne agency Whybin\TBWA\Tequila has developed a series of radio, print and online activities to propose the world’s longest video chain letter. The website ‘Millionpleas’ aims to move international leaders to sign a treaty against nuclear weapons.
This ICAN project coincides with the 65th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing in Japan. Fittingly a 45-second TV and online spot with school children from Hiroshima saying ‘Please’ kick starts the initiative.
People are encouraged to upload their own clip and messages and share the link among friends and families.
The video addresses nine countries that have possession of nuclear weapons. The campaign is also linked to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
All pleas will be edited into a long virtual chain letter, which will act as a petition directed at political leaders calling for the total abolishment of nuclear weapons. So far the campaign has gathered 2,237 pleas following its on 6 August.
