HKTB requested for a complete overhaul and redesign of the Hong Kong Tourism Board website. The intention was to create a modern tourism site that was visually matched the image of Hong Kong and offered enhanced usability to introduce the attractions of this world city to international travellers.
Planning & Execution
Designercity undertook this project to create the face for brand Hong Kong with a focus on visitor usability and accessibility with a supplement of information at ones fingertips wherever they were. This project required a complete rewrite of HKTB’s Brand, User & Technology experiences and began with some detailed usability testing and focus group research. The team created a sophisticated UX model and a brand new information architecture focused on content and visitor engagement to create Hong Kong-specific experiences for them. With 15 languages supported and 22 country pages, the entire platform of more than 10,000 pages continues to be maintained by Designercity and is one of the most advanced tourism sites anywhere in the world.
Effectiveness / Results
Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Discover Hong Kong website has been awarded numerous accolades for its UX, wealth of information for visitors and connectedness to social media and the tourism board’s hundreds of promotions and offers.
It is one of the most advanced tourism sites that supports 15 languages and is available in 22 different country sites.
