Go Smiley
Designercity and Hysan Place have collaborated over the years in developing award-winning websites and state-of-the-art retail installations. Our latest collaboration comes in conjunction with the shopping center’s summer month long GO SMILEY campaign. We pitched Hysan Place to utilize some new technologies in support of their campaign to inspire happiness to all visitors and patrons, as well as conduct a fundraiser for their chosen charity “Save the Children” foundation.
Planning & Execution
What better to optimize the use of technology than for a good cause? Utilizing the latest technologies in 3D depth sensing and Intel’s Perceptual computing, Designercity created an application based on Intel’s Perceptual computing SDK using Creative Senz3D camera, to create an interactive SMILEY® Face game with proceeds collected for the “Save the Children” foundation.
The mechanics of the game was simple. Designercity created a fun and engaging game for visitors to participate in. One of the main objectives was to inspire happiness so we invited all participants to smile into a camera while 4 consecutive photos were snapped. Using depth sensing, the camera detects and captures every smile. With a smartphone, participants can scan a QR code to download their own digital copy of their image to be shared using social media. And the donation for “Save the Children” came from a nominal fee to play the game. The application was built with Intel’s SDK and the Senz3D camera and this is the perfect example of a connected experience.
